Livestream: Profiling The Top Teams in Submission Grappling

Livestream: Profiling The Top Teams in Submission Grappling

We’re going to watch high level competitors from all the top teams in BJJ/Submission Grappling, and compile a “team profile” of their preferred guard positions, takedowns, passes, and submissions.

In today’s livestream, we’re putting together the bones of what this project would look like, including all the messy details of how we could collect such specific data.

Some Notes:

  • After spending nearly an hour watching a mere four matches, I decided I’m definitely going to include the high level matches, including stuff like 10p qualifiers. Otherwise it will just take too long.

  • I’ll follow up on those “beltless” competitors and try and get their belt levels.

  • I’m going to group guard passes into “families” just like we do with guard positions.
